Mount Kailash Yatra from Lhasa

If you were to take my professional advise for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, I will say a road trip to Kailashh Mansarovar is better in comparison to those quick rides in helicopters and flights. There are several reasons behind this and the most important is that you get close to the cuslture and nature of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) while you are covering the distance by road. Not only this but a road trip also gives the traveller enough time to acclimatize as they travel slowly from one city to the next on their Kailash Mansarovar tour. This tour to Kailash Mannsarovar from Lhasa is perhaps the best choice and I recommend this over other routes and packages.

Tentative Schedule

Day 01 : Arrive Kathmandu

Today as you arrive at Kathmandu international airport to begin your spiritual adventure to the holiest Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, our representative will assist you for a comfortable transfer from airport to your pre-booked hotel in Kathmandu, nepal.
Day 02 : Kathmandu Tour & Fly to Lhasa

The morning begins with a visit to the very popular Pashupatinath Temple. Followed by this a visit to Jalnarayana Temple (sleeping Vishnu Temple) and Guhyeshwati (Guheshwari) Mata Temple will be organised by our team. Later intime transfer to Kathmanndu International Airport to board flight to Tibet's capital city 'Lhasa'. At Lhasa a 2 hours drive will bring you to the hotel. Rest of the time to get settled in high altitude weather (3650 meters) of Tibet.
Day 03 : Lhasa sightseeing tour

Today is your first sightseeing trip in Tibet on Kailash Mansarovar tour. After delicious breakfast in the hotel a guided tour of beautiful town of Lhasa awaits today. Meet with your English speaking local guide who will assist you in today's visits in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region. Lhasa sightseeing tour includes a visit to popular Jokhang, Barkhor street and drive through the beautiful Potala Palace. After visits return to your hotel to relax in your room or do your own activities.
Day 04 : Lhasa to Shigatse Drive

Situated at a distance of about 275 kms from Lhasa, Shigatse or Xigaze (3800 meters) is the traditional capital of Tsang province in Tibet. The highway drive from Lhasa to Shigatse is very popular for those travelling to the Central Tibet region. Though there is a fast train service available from Lhasa to Shigatse (3 hours), but for the first time visitors a driving trip (Lhasa-Gyantse-Shigatse highway) is more rewarding as they get chance to explore some beautiful sites enroute. This journey from Lhasa to Shigatse usually takes a day despite short distance as there are many interesting places on the way, to make a hault. On your Kailash Mansarovar tour from Lhasa, today's night stay will be at a hotel in Shigatse.
Day 05 : Shigatse to Tingri Drive

Wake up early, have your breakfast and continue your drive further towards Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Today's stop will be at Tingri (4390 meters) which is about 270 kms drive away from Shigatse in the Southern parts of Tibet Autonomous Region. Tingri is popularly known as a base of mountain climbers who ascend the great Mount Everest. Further 70 kms drive will bring us to the Everest Base Camp (5010 meters). There are two base campsites for Mount Everest one in Tibet (at an altitude of 5150 meters) which is known as the Northaast side and the other one is in Nepal (at a height of 5365 meters) So we will be visiting the NorthEast side of the Everest Base Camp through a paved road linked with China National Highway. We will be able to visit upto the Rongbuk Monastery (5200 meters) due to the restrictions imposed by the Chinese Govt in Febryary 2019 for tourists. Night stay will be in hotel at Tingri / Lhatse.
Day 06 : Tingri to Saga Drive

In the morning enjoy beautiful sunrise of Everest and after breakfast head to Saga. Situated at a height of 4,640 meters above sea level, 470 kms east of holy Mount Kailash, Saga is a main point for a night hault on tour to Kailash Mansarovar. Saga has grown rapidly in last few years due to the development of tourism infrastructure. The 430 kms drive from Tingri to Saga will last in about 8-9 hours. You will view the world's 14th highest peak Mt. Shishapangma and the beautiful Lake Peiku Tso. Night stay will be in a hotel at Saga.
Day 07 : Saga to Lake Mansarovar

Get ready for your drive to Lake Mansarovar through beautiful G219 State Road of Tibet. Despite long distance travel today the well paved road from Saga to Lake Mansarovar offers an enjoyable driving experience. While driving you will have first vies of the spectacular and holiest Mount Kailash. On reaching Mansarovar Lake checkinto your guesthouse. Rest of the time free for taking holy bath near Lake Mansarovar and doing prayers meditation etc. In the night one may explore the beauty of surroundings while sitting on the bank of the lake. Stay will be in the guesthouse today.
Day 08 : Lake Mansarovar to Darchen

Pay a quick visit to Holy Lake Mansarovar in the morning and then after breakfast hit the road for a short drive to Darchen. Relaxed time and night stay will be at Darchen.
Day 09 : Mt. Kailash First Day Trekking

1st day trek from Yam Dwar to Dherapukh.
Day 10 : Mt. Kailash Second Day Trekking

2nd day trek to Zuthulpukh.
Day 11 : Mt Kailash to Saga Country

3rd day trek to Darchen and drive to Saga.
Day 12 : Saga to Shigatse Drive

Prepare yourself for a day long drive from Saga to Shigatse. We will make a night halt at Shigatse in a hotel.
Day 13 : Shigatse to Lhasa Drive

Drive back to Lhasa from Shigatse. Night stay in a hotel at Shigatse.
Day 14 : Lhasa to Kathmandu Flight

Have your breakfast in the hotel followed by some relaxed time. Later drive to Lhasa Gonggar Airport to board flight to Kathmandu, Nepal. Our Nepal team will organise a timely transfer for you from the airport to your hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 15 : Depart from Kathmandu

Your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra tour package comes to an end today as you are trannsferred to Kathmandu airport for your onward flight connection.
